Justyna Nascimento

Justyna Nascimento is a UK‑based Polish artist working in photography and mixed medium. Her practice turns toward questions of self‑identity, drawing its depth from the strata of memory. She looks for conceptual way of expressions using family photographs. She is inspired by what is quietly inherited, the places her ancestors lived, the emotions voiced and unvoiced, the residue of lives she never knew yet feels within herself. She also draws strength from the photographic practices of those before her, like Jo Spence, whose work carved space for women to speak. From this layered lineage of experience and image, she gathers the courage to express her own voice.
