the way we look at photographs…

I look for scenes that evoke a sense of longing and timelessness.

Project 1. Intergenerational flows- six generations of women in my family.

There are different ways of looking of photographs……….

One way is to look through Studium, gathering information about subject, history, context and even technique….

Another way is through Punctum, something so emotionally familiar that pierces us. It could be a fold in a blouse, a broken button, the way lips take shape. …

Justyna Nascimento is a UK‑based Polish artist working in photography. Her practice turns toward questions of self‑identity, drawing its depth from the strata of memory. In her images, emotional states surface through the quiet presence of objects that hold the weight of remembrance—garments softened by use, plants, and other fragile materials that return her to the moments they once touched. She looks for conceptual way of expressions using masks, paints, home made camera lens filters.
